Larry Bolig

Larry Bolig

Larry Bollig grew up in Pierz and was introduced to fishing by his grandfather. After serving in the Marine Corps, he married his wife of 37 years, Jean Wilek, and they have raised a family of ardent fishermen. During his career, Bollig has distinguished himself as a premier tournament angler, as well as an expert in the use of electronics.

He also popularized the use of jig-worm tackle for bass fishing during the late 1970s. He has become a familiar name in the industry through his work in the media. In addition to frequent contributions to In-Fisherman, Outdoor News and the Star-Tribune, for the last decade he has co-hosted the program, Bare Facts and Fish Tales, with Mark Fisher on KSTP Radio.

As he joins the elite members of Minnesota's fishing legends, Bollig said, "Being elected into the Hall of Fame by my fishing peers gives me the deepest sense of gratitude and pride."
